Originally founded in Japan in 1976, and expanding to North America in 1989, IAI designs and manufactures motion control systems. Leading products include linear actuators and SCARA robots. IAI provides over half of all linear actuators sold in Japan. Others applications include advanced "plug and play" automation.

    IAI offers IF Series integrated flexible belt drive actuators in Small and Medium Type configurations. The Small Type has either a 60W or 100W motor, and provides a payload of up to 22 lbs. The Medium Type has a frame width that is 30 mm larger than the Small Type, and is available with either a 200W or 400W motor. Both series are available with a double slider option for higher moment load capabilities and larger overhang load length. Maximum horizontal payload is 88 lbs.

    IAI offers ZR Unit vertical rotation electric and RCP2-HS8R high speed slider type actuators. ZR Unit vertical rotation electrical actuators have up to 20,000 point positions, payloads up to 6 kg, strokes up to 200 mm, and speed ratings up to 1,256 mm/s. Model RCP2-HS8R high speed slider-type actuators feature θ16mm drive methods, ±0.02mm positioning repeatability ratings, and ambient operating temperatures ranging from 0 to 40°C.
