Gearmotors

RAE Corporation designs and manufactures parallel gearmotors, planetary gearmotors, and right angle gearmotors. The parallel gearmotors are available in 2 to 5 stages, while the planetary gearmotors feature ratings up to 300 in-lbs., speeds up to 400 rpm, and ratios of 5:1 to 125:1. The eight different series of right angle gearmotors are for various applications including noise sensitive, moderate output torque at slow output speed, moderate output torque, high output torque, and back drive.

MacFarland Associates manufactures commercial DC gearmotors, industrial planetary DC gearmotors, industrial spur DC gearmotors, and industrial worm DC gearmotors. The commercial gearmotors feature shaft speeds of 3 to 1500 rpm and are designed for OEM applications where high torque and small size are required. The planetary gearmotors provide ratios from 4:1 to 308:1 and produce up to 1000 Ncm continuous torque - with outputs from 10 to 750 rpm. The worm gearmotors provide ratios from 3:1 to 100:1, with outputs up to 1333 rpm.

Kollmorgen's AKM gearmotors are used within demanding motion control environments, and feature a helical-crowned, true planetary design. Available in four frame sizes, the gearmotors have torque capacity up to 5860 lb-in or 8280 lb-in., radial load capacity up to 2000 lbs. or 10,000 lbs., and ratios from 3:1 to 25:1.

Parker manufactures Stealth gearmotors comprised of a brushless servo motor and helical planetary gearhead. Featuring IP 65 protection and large output bearings for high radial loads, the gearmotors are available with continuous torque of 3 to 60 Nm, and ratios of 5:1, 7:1 and 10:1.

Micromo offers three types of DC gearmotors that differ from conventional, iron rotor DC motors. Types include flat brushless DC motors with a plastic spur gearheads; sensorless brushless DC motors with plastic planetary gearheads; and flat coreless DC motors with plastic spur gearheads. The various gearmotors feature nominal voltage of 3 volts to 24 volts, and reduction ratios of 6:1 to 1830:1.

Allied Motion Technologies Inc. custom designs BLDC and PMDC gearmotors available in right-angle, parallel, and inline shaft versions. The right angle shaft PMDC gearmotors are available with rated power from 1/30 HP to 3/8 HP, and with rated torque of 20 lb-in. to 155 lb-in. The parallel shaft PMDC gearmotors feature rated torque from 27 lb-in. to 175 lb-in. along with rated power of 0.036 HP to 0.4 HP.

Oriental Motor Corp. develops AC motors with parallel shaft or right angle gearheads. The parallel shaft gearhead can achieve a rated life of 10,000 hours, while the right angle gearhead enables space savings. AC constant speed motors that feature these gearheads include: induction motors, reversible motors, electromagnetic brake motors, synchronous motors, dust-resistant motors, clutch and brake motors, and torque motors.
